2009 - RIchard directed episodes of "Intersection", a dramatic series, for Myriad Arts Productions.
2010 (released) - Richard co-directed and co-produced with Dore Hammond, "Pluck", (an Atkinson-Hammond Productions 1, LLC production) a film about luminaries who contributed to politics, media, fashion, the arts and publishing in the cultural milieu of NYC in the 1950's and early 1960's. 2005 - Richard co-directed short, "Divine Light" (a Dore Hammond film), with Dore Hammond, a perspective about the legendary New York Arts League teacher, Frank Mason, who painted in the style of the Old Masters.
Richard Atkinson's interest in documentary films began at the age of 17 when he was one of the cameramen on an 8,000 mile overland expedition to the mountainous borders of Turkey, Iran and Iraq filming the Kurdish way of life. The expedition was written up in the Sunday Telegraph Magazine (UK), one of the UK's most read publications.

Richard received a BA (Hons.) from Leed University, UK and studied Film Production and later Directing for Film at NYU SCPS and Camera and Technology at the International FIlm and TV Workshops, Rockport, Maine.
DOGS LIE is based on the stageplay of the same name written by Ronnie Cohen and Jane Beale which played Off Broadway NYC. Much of the drama takes place in the uniquely surreal confines of a sleep clinic . The Patients and Clinicians lives become dangerously entwined as dark secrets are revealed and relationships unravel.The beautiful Lucia finds herself the center of attention. Blackmail, Romance and Murder ensue.
THE CAST was assembled in the most part by Brette Goldstein NY who brought a wealth of talent to the project.Her skills as an actors coach and casting director helped define the right actor for key roles. CINEMATOGRAPHY. Director of Photography Colin Lewis worked tirelessly with the Director and A/C ( camera 2) Albert Elmazovski to create a unique style using obtuse angles, sticks and hand held to accentuate the drama and tension as it mounts.
EDITING. Albert Elmazovski's love of film and work as A/C on the shoot made him the obvious choice when it came to selecting an editor. Elmazovski knew the footage intimately and was able to convey the tension or humor of a scene as he had experienced it either on the set or on location .
